Acer’s new touchscreen Chromebook possibly leaked in France

While Acer has announced their C720 Chromebook this morning, further news of their expanding lineup is emerging. It seems as though Acer will bring Chromebook fans exactly what they’ve been wanting: a mid-range, appropriately priced touchscreen Chromebook. According to an Amazon page in France, the newest addition to the Chromebook family is coming soon, and hopefully soon.

If it looks like the freshly announced $199.99 C720 — or even the more robust C720 variant the world is falling for — it just might be the touchscreen clone of the other two. The Amazon page lists it as being the C720P, and having the same specs as the other C720s, save for the screen. We’ll get a 1.4GHz dual-core Celeron Processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB memory, and an 11.6-inch touchscreen display.

Unlike the other two C720 models, which have a number following them which starts with “28—”, this one has the trailing tag of 29552G03aii. The device is also set for pre-order currently, with no mention of when — or where — it will be available. We should also remember that the Pixel was launched in Paris, and made immediately available via the Play Store.

Perhaps the best part of this story is the pricing. The Amazon post lists it at EUR 299.99, which would put it right around $450 for us here in the states. With other Chromebooks (even those from Acer) racing for the lowest price point, this brings back a Chromebook we’ve not had since the Samsung 550. It also brings touchscreen usability to Chromebook fans at a very reasonable cost, which is something that has dogged the Pixel since launch.

With nothing official coming from Acer, or Google, we’re cautiously optimistic on this one. It falls in line with their naming scheme, as Acer seems keen on their C720 moniker. It also fills a needed void, and brings more touch capability to Chrome. On the other hand, it’s really the same press image we’ve seen before, with little more than a hand over the screen. Even the user profile picture is the same. The listing also doesn’t note a resolution or pixel density for the screen, which seems odd. We’re hoping it’s the real deal, but we’ll wait for more news before getting too excited.

Le LG Optimus G Pro arrivera en France courant juillet !

Après un lancement en grandes pompes, à New York, au début du mois, l’éventuel lancement du LG Optimus G Pro en France restait en suspens dans l’attente d’une annonce officielle qui a fini par arriver. Une annonce émanant non pas le LG mais de Qualcomm et postée dans la nuit sur le Twitter français du célèbre constructeur de composants. Malheureusement, pour l’heure on ne sait pas encore quelle version de l’appareil sera proposée dans nos contrées, celui-ci se déclinant à la fois en version 5 pouces et en version 5,5 pouces. On espère donc qu’il s’agira de la seconde mais dans tous les cas, une chose est sûre, le Galaxy Note 3 a du souci à se faire.

Tout comme le Galaxy S4, le LG Optimus G Pro attendu en France se dotera d’un processeur Qualcomm Snardragon 600. Un processeur quad core cadencé à 1,7 Ghz. On retrouvera également un GPU Adreno 320, le tout épaulé par 2 Go de Ram. Autant dire que la puissance sera au rendez-vous.

Résolument haut de gamme, ce dernier phablet de LG propose un écran Full HD de 5,5 pouces affichant une densité de pixels de l’ordre de 441 ppi, un appareil photo 13 Megapixels et une caméra frontale 2,1 Megapixels. Il supporte les réseaux 4G LTE et propose une capacité de stockage initial de l’ordre de 32 Go, extensible via l’ajout d’une carte microSD.  Enfin, côté autonomie, l’appareil embarque fièrement une batterie de 3140 mAh, au niveau de sa puissance, le tout contenu dans des dimensions de 150.2×76.1×9.4mm et un poids de 172 grammes.

Côté logiciel, on retrouve des innovations assez similaires à celles proposées par le dernier smartphone haut de gamme de Samsung et basées sur l’Eye-tracking, à commencer par Dual Camera et permet de mettre en pause l’enregistrement ou la lecture d’une vidéo en détournant simplement le regard.

Je sens que les deux prochains mois vont sembler interminables, en attendant la sortie en France du LG Optimus G Pro.

Mise à jour Android 4.1.2 pour le Xperia S disponible en France

Conformément à l’annonce faite hier sur le site de Sony, la mise à jour Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean pour le Xperia S est enfin disponible en France, comme vient tout juste de le confirmer Sony Xperia FR, via sa page Twitter. Attendue depuis maintenant un an, cette mise à jour devrait redonner un sacré coup de jeune au modèle haut de gamme de la line-up 2012 de Sony.

Tout comme dans le cas de la mise à jour des Xperia P, Xperia Go et Xperia E Dual, cette mise à jour sous Android 4.1.2 apporte au Xperia S, l’ensemble des nouveautés de Jelly Bean, comme Google Now ou Project Butter, pour ne citer qu’eux, ainsi qu’une série de nouveautés exclusives à Sony. A commencer par une mise à jour majeure des applications Walkman Album et Movies.

Les applications bénéficient, quant à elles, d’un nouveau mode de recherche et d’organisation et la personnalisation de l’appareil s’enrichit de nouveaux thèmes. Enfin, l’intégration du mode STAMINA permet d’améliorer considérablement l’autonomie du smartphone avec un gain d’énergie multiplié par quatre en mode veille.

Mise à jour Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean pour le Xperia S.

Bien entendu et c’est le cas à chaque nouvelle mise à niveau de l’OS, cette mise à jour du Xperia S sous Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean se fera donc en plusieurs étape. Ainsi, comme le mentionne le tweet de Sony, elle n’est, pour l’instant disponible que pour les premières builds, par conséquent, si n’avez pas encore, été notifié de son arrivée, ne paniquez pas, ça prendra sans doute encore quelques jours mais ça vaudra le coup d’attendre.

Pour vérifier maintenant l’état de la mise à jour, il vous suffit de lancer le logiciel PC Companion et de raccorder votre smartphone à votre PC.

LG Optimus F5: The Smartphone 4 G available in France at an attractive price

Sold at a price of €349, without subscription, will suffice as the first position mid with 4 G Smartphone and offers therefore an interesting configuration of hardware at a very attractive price.

LG Optimus L5 comes therefore in France first, but it is also largely expected, the European market as well as in South America, Asia and the Commonwealth States independent.
